is it true that disturbing a moldy wall makes the mold fly all over the house?
found musty drywall next to an old water heater leak, when i sawed it out, the smell got worse behind the wall. is it true that disturing it has now spread invisible spores all over the house? it is only 8 years old
The spores are there, but they won’t grow unless the conditions are favorable (damp). Make sure you get the original area completely decontaminated and cleaned up, tear out even more and wash everything down with an antifungal agent and make completely sure it is dry and will stay dry before you wall it up again. If your water heater leaks, you have to take care of that, too.
