Bursitis Scar

Bursitis Scar
What is the best way to Relieve Pain after a cortisone shot in the hip?

I knew the shot would hurt but didn’t think it would continue to hurt the next day. All I want to do is lay down and keep the pressure off. Is there any pain relief or do I just wait for it to wear off.
Don’t get me wrong; I would and will continue with this treatment as my bone is in good shape. I’m just fighting off all the Scar Tissue from numerous surgeries and a bad case of bursitis.

It’s quite normal for an injection of this type to cause more pain for the first few days. If need be you can use NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal anti-inflammatory) such as Advil, Motrin,or Aspirin to help with the pain and inflammation.
If you have stomach discomfort you can try Tylenol (Acetaminophen). You can also use Ice and then heat to help with any slight swelling you may have. Things should return to normal within a week or so

However,If you begin to develop a fever, increased swelling and redness that is painful to the touch, or any strange rashes,or streaks, or trouble breathing please follow up with your physician
