How many miles do I have left after the low fuel light comes on?

I have a 2007 Ford Focus with the 2.0 engine. Up to this point I’ve gone 40 miles before loosing my nerve. How much gas or how many miles are left after the low fuel light comes on?

Depends on how acurate the guage is. My wifes car can go 10 miles after the light comes on, and my old car could go a 100 miles. So toughen up get a gas can and do the experiment.
