Cushions Shock

the best cleats for ultimate frisbee?
theres no section for ultimate, so i thought the soccer section would be my best bet. i am looking for some very nice cleats. if you’ve never heard of ultimate, it is non stop running, jumping very high, and diving/laying out. since there is lots of running from 0 to sprint speed, to stopping again, then accelerating back again, i need a cleat that will give me good grip but will also be light. i also need a light cleat for skying people for the disc when it is in the air. and also from jumping, i need a cleat that has thick cushioning for my feet and especially my heel, since i bruise my heels a lot from the shock and impact of high jumps at full speeds. the pumas i have now are cheap and have no cushioning/shock absorption. also the grips are very wide & thick, which is pretty much only good for soft muddy terrain. i play on lots of mild to hard ground, so i need a smaller grip that digs in well. also extreme lightness is key since there is so much start & stop running & jumping.thx
nike speed td’s or nike super speed td’s
Also, if you want more than one opinion, ask the people on this group, thousands of people who all play ultimate frisbee. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.sport.disc
Shock Absorbers
A shock absorber could be defined as a mechanical device that is designed to dampen shock impulses, thus dissipating kinetic energy. Pneumatic and hydraulic shock absorbers constitute a cylinder with a sliding piston inside it. The cylinder is filled with hydraulic fluid or air. This combination of fluid-filled piston and cylinder is known as a dashpot. Shock absorbers serve a number of vital applications and are an important component of automobile and motorcycle suspensions, aircraft landing gear, and acts as supports for different kinds of industrial machines. They help in cushioning vehicles on uneven terrains.
Listed below are the various kinds of Shock absorbers:
- The air shock absorber makes use of compressed air to smooth out excessive suspension movement. This kind of shock absorber helps heavily loaded vehicles to have better control on the road.
- The spring is combined with the shock absorber to create a coil over the shock absorber. This kind of shock absorber is suitable for different types of roads and offers the vehicle good control during cornering and braking. The spring’s capability to compress and stretch enables a smoother, pleasurable ride.
- The damper shock absorber could be easily adjusted to deal with specific road conditions. The fluid in this type of shock absorber could be increased or reduced with the help of a valve. The adjustability provided by damper shock absorber gives vehicles good balance.
- The twin tube shock absorber makes use of oil. It consists of an outer chamber filled with air, that gets compressed as the oil is forced through the chamber. When the piston pulls out, the oil encounters resistance as it flows through the piston, as a result of which damping is generated.
- The mono tube shock absorber is equipped with a larger piston than most other shock absorbers. It has the ability to automatically adjust to different kinds of road conditions and could be installed at varied angles. The mono tube shock absorber is made of aluminium and therefore, it is lighter than other kinds of shock absorbers and also enables faster reduction of heat.
