Device Relieves
How effective is the Drionic Device (for hyperhydrosis)?

My MD prescribed me Drionic Device. Its quite expensive so I’d like to hear directly from people who have used it to find out how effective it is and how convenient it is to use.

I’ve visited this site: http://www.drionic.com/underarm_sweat.ht…

I am dying to hear how this devise works and its convenience before I invest in it. I’ve been looking into treating my hyperhydrosis of hands, feet, armpits, hamstrings. It somehow relieves me that I am not alone with this problem, but it will totally relieved me if I get a semi-permanent cure for it.

Thank you all.

Drionic is one of many iontophoresis machines available. It is the cheapest and MOST POORLY DESIGNED MACHINE.

From my own experience and others’, iontophoresis can be very effective in stopping sweat. It has completely stopped the sweating on my hands and has made my body sweat more normally. For example, before when I overheat, often my hands would sweat a lot while the other body parts wouldn’t. It’s as if the entire body’s heat is being released through sweat in the hands and feet. Now, the hands don’t sweat much while the rest of the body (torso, arms, legs) sweats (this is how a normal person should sweat). I believe that iontophoresis doesn’t cause compensatory sweating like with surgery.

The problem with the Drionic is that you need to submerge the sweaty areas under the water in order to treat it. Other machines such as the Idrostar ( http://www.i2m-labs.com/p_gb/idrostar.htm ) allow you to submerge your entire hand or foot into the water. The Drionic’s most moronic design does not allow you to do that and the areas in the middle of your hands/feet as well as the sides of the palms will not be treated. Treatment is only effective for areas submerged under water. You can modify the Drionic so it becomes similar to the other devices, but you will need some expertise in electrical wiring. You can also use products containing aluminum chloride (Certain Dri or Drysol) to further help reduce the sweating.

If you can get your insurance to pay for a more expensive machine, you should purchase that instead of the Drionic device. These more professional machines cost ~$600 USD and all have good reviews. The problem with iontophoresis is that initially, you won’t see any results until the sweat suddenly stops. After that, you have to keep doing it (maybe 1 hr / week) to maintain dryness.
