Would my fuel pump make my van vibrate?

So here the deal my van started to vibrate on new years eve. then on Saturday it doesn’t start. I got someone to look at it today and they say my fuel pump is out and they say it might be causing my van to vibrate, Now when my van was working it ran smoothed while I was not pushing on the gas, but when I push on the gas in shakes horribly. so in short is it just my fuel pump or is it more?

Depending on what year, and make your van is. The problem is possibly a dirty Idle Air control valve. The throttle-body has a machined air passage inside it that meters the air at idle and just off idle. It is a computerized choke. When the passage gets carbon built up, it restricts the air flow causing the engine to run rich. This rich condition can cause the engine to stumble or vibrate. As you are accelerating, you are dumping more fuel into the cylinders and if there is not sufficient air flow the condition will get worse until speeds of about 30-35 mph when forced air takes over.
This part can be removed, cleaned with a throttle-body cleaner that is O2 sensor safe (about 10 bucks), and reinstalled. This usually takes about an hour to do. A good way to tell, is to remove the air inlet hose attached to the TB and open the throttle plate. All that black sludge is carbon.
