Heat Bubbles
Heat Bubbles
Should I remove and clean the stock thermal compound on a heat sink on the CPU, and apply Arctic Silver 5 compound?
I bought a new CPU AMD comes with stock heatsink. My question is, should I clean and remove the stock thermal compound on the heatsink and applied Arctic Silver 5 on my cpu. Will you use the method of peas, without separating the compounds. That way I can at least create the possibility of bubbles.
FINALLY! Arctic Silver 5 can even fix the dreaded RROD on Xbox 360. It is superior to all (except maybe thermaltake fat). I love the result.

Bubble Lights – a true Christmas classic retro
No decoration of Christmas time is more of a classic retro lights bubble, fascinating ornaments activated by heat that brought a unique glow to the Christmas decorations from the war.
bubble lights for use flashy display signs were invented in the 1930 and the changes were actually patented by several persons in 1936. But the man whose design became on the basis of the popular holiday decorations was Carl Otis, an amateur inventor who worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward store. His company refused to support or to purchase rights his invention, however, and eventually sold to a manufacturer of Christmas lights called NOMA.
As early as mid-1940 the lights were being sold in the U.S. and Europe, and by the 1950s had become very popular. Although the original light sets were expensive, heavy, fragile and temperamental, which were a holiday essential and almost all I can remember the fifties and sixties will remember a string or two of the lights of the bubble in a place of honor in the tree Christmas.
It was not always a period of notice – often accompanied by some judicious tapping and repositioning – between connect and see the bubbles in the first place, but once it leaves the effect was excellent. Fortunately, modern reproductions are lighter, more durable and reliable, but are still working on the same principle.
The science behind bubbles
Bubble lighting fixtures are actually a surprisingly complex and scientific establishment, which consists of two parts: an electrified base, which holds a small incandescent light bulb more than a thin fluid-filled bottle is placed.
In fifty light classical base was generally two shades of corrugated plastic, the container that held the bulb of one color and the lid or cap of a different color. The glass vial was generally heavier, clear or amber, but also made in shades of blue, red or purple. In modern road systems is often resistant acrylic, making them lighter and more resistant to breakage.
The bottle is filled with a liquid having a low boiling point. The first lights used light oil, which was later replaced by the organic solvent methylene chloride. When the lights are connected, the heat of the incandescent bulb Small leads the liquid to boil and bubbles rise and float the road, creating a fascinating movement and sparkle.
New variations on an old favorite
Although the basic premise of the bubble lights unchanged modern innovations and changes have been made only increase its appeal. The new versions of the popular lights are made of strong materials, such as acrylic light that resist breaking and cracking, and bases of light-holding often in the form of characters.
The lights have also been successful in miniature, the originals were generally four or more inches long from the tip of the bottle at the bottom of the base, but "mini puppets" as small as two inches in length are available.
