are there single unit heat pumps with dual thermostats for upstairs and downstairs?

I have a shop on the lower floor of our garage, my wife has a sewing room upstairs. Neither is used all the time so we only run the heat/AC when we need to. We have one heat pump rated to handle either space. There are two thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs. Their output goes to a Honeywell micro processor that looks at each thermostat and operates dampers in the supply and return lines from both spaces. It decides which space is calling for heat (or AC in the summer) and opens and closes the dampers to heating or cooling to the space calling for it.

I’m sure something similar could be worked out for other applications. Talk with a local Heating/AC contractor or Honeywell Controls.
