¿I can use a heat rock instead of a heat mat in a nursery timber?

I'll be getting a bearded dragon 6 months. I have purchased a nursery 4 feet of wood, but can not find a heat mat that can go in the nursery, and all are to each glass. ¿I can use a few rocks heat instead of a heat mat? Thanx for the help.

Bearie do poorly on heat mats and heat rocks, they need heat lamps, especially the young. If I had to choose the lesser of two evils (mats or rocks) that would keep the carpet, but it is like saying "It is better to drink cyanide arsnic?"
