What’s wrong with my mom? I’m worried.?

A few days ago she said she had begun to experience pain in her Lower Back. She says it feel a bit better when I massage it with one of those vibrating massagers, but it continues as soon as I stop. I can’t massage her back all day long! She’s been throwing up and cannot keep any food down. She hasn’t slept in days because of the pain in her back. She’s usually very active and happy, but she’s been in bed for days and I don’t know what to do to help her. I keep telling her she needs to visit a doctor, but we don’t have insurance or the money to pay out of pocket. I’m thinking it might be kidney stones, but do they make you throw up? Can someone please help?

Yes, kidney stones can elicit vomiting, especially if the pain is severe. If she has had pain urinating or the pain has moved downward, likely this is a kidney stone. Chances are she needs to see a doctor, kidney stone or not, to rule out something more serious. Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids (water, gatorade for electrolyte replacement) and it will hopefully pass if that’s what this is.
