What is the best drum for use with a guitar and vocals?

I am a professional drummer, and I mostly play drum kit, but I have been asked to carry out for 6 months in a hotel in Asia as a drummer with a guitar and vocals (jazz, blues, top 40, etc.) Use some drum & Bass backing tracks, so I'm wondering what percussion is appropriate. Apparently, they will be working in the lobby of a 5 star hotel. Obviously, tambourine, maracas, bells, etc, would be useful, but the congas or timbales that worth? The duo is not quite sure what you need either (until we get there).

What about a drawer? They are quite modern and fresh, congas are great too.
