Massage table – shiatsu release cables?

I’m a Massage Therapy student. What are those shiatsu release cables on my Portable Massage table used for? How do I use them? I thought the cables were to stabilize the table and keep it from collapsing.

The cables allow you to collapse the legs, to put it on the ground. Traditional Shiatsu is done on futons or mats placed on the floor.

Therefore if you choose to do Shiatsu, your table can be used for Traditional Massage (on legs) or placed on the ground.
