What causes a loud hum DC motor with permanent magnets and how to solve?
I have a treadmill pro-form. The unit is a DC motor Variable Speed. The engine has started making loud buzzing noise. I replaced the bearing on the drive side thinking it might be the culprit. No luck. The engine is noisy, even when the belt is removed and the load is rotating freely. The engine is fairly new and controller card While checking the voltage according to the diagram. Any ideas?
ensure that all mounting screws that hold the motor are tight, you sure which is the engine? feel about the vibration that causes the buzz, it might be something loose attached near the motor. Next, the bearings inside the motor can be bad. you could try fat. I'm not sure if it would be cost effective to change the bearings as you may need a puller and press for change. do your hair and clothes around parts tour. humm the transformer with the power and the engine off
