Wooden Summer
Wooden Summer
How long does it take to replace fully a wooden double sashed window?
I am going to have 18 windows replaced in my antique house this summer — the whole window in each case needs to be removed and an identically sized wood framed window put in its place. How long does this generally take per window once all materials are on site and scaffolding is in place where needed? With one team, is it reasonable to expect one window a day or more?
This is a 1795 c. Connecticut colonial, and the windows were last updated in the 1930′s or so – will that make any difference?
A good crew of 2 should be able to do 3-4 per day, depending mostly on how difficult the old ones are to remove.
