I had a massage Brookstone iSqueez it broke. I bought a new thinking to return the old and new?

Will I get caught doing this? I bought new was bubble wrapped and taped up so if I can get the new one with care and then just bubble wrap and tape to the old and put back in the new box, Brookstone opened the box and check to make sure the product is new? Because of my age, had a few scratches small visible, but I do not really check, it is in bubble wrap and tape and a box. Please help me out here …
